I just ordered the sliver cuff for my husband for Father's Day. I put the nicknames of our daughters (we have 5) on the inside (not enough space for full names!). I absolutely cannot wait for him to get this!! It is perfect. He is currently in TX training for yet another deployment to Afghanistan. This will be a great reminder of his girls while he's away. My husband is the most selfless man I know. He is a true patriot who loves this country whole heartedly. And likewise, he is the best father our girls could have. When he's home he spends time with each of our girls before bed at night ... just sitting and listening to them talk about whatever they want and grants wishes of make up stories when time allows (and even sometimes when it does not!). When he's gone he continues the make up stories by sending recordings on mini cassettes:). One of my favorite images of my husband is when he walks in the door at night. Instantly the pounding of little feet can be heard racing towards him. The feet of his "little people" as he calls the girls. As he bends over to untie his boots little ones hang on his neck and climb on his back and the downloading on the current events of the day begin. He never complains, and never makes the girls wait. He is there for them and loves them completely above himself. I've already ordered, so I don't need to be entered, but as a tribute to super Daddy, I just wanted to post this.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your work! I ordered the necklace with the gold heart for my oldest's 13th birthday. It is beautiful and I can't tell you how many compliments we receive!

This year has been a year of changes in our family dinamics, in spring break my husband underwent gastryc bipass surgery + hernya repair. Needless to say I have been extremely exhausted trying to keep our 1 and 5 year olds busy with outings every weekend and during the week. He did this to provide us a better lifestyle, be more active and involved. He was not thinking of himself when he decided to do this, he was thinking of his family and being there for our kids. Provide us with a healthier lifestyle and leading by example. Because of this surgery he prepared for it since the holiday season in 2010 and lost 40 lbs on his own. I knew he would be on bed rest for a couple of weeks, but never thought how long.
ReplyDeleteI have been on a hubby appreciation period since spring break. My husband has always been a great father. I admire him because he is always patient with our kids, even after a long day at work. He supports our family so that I may take care of our kids and home. He is always teaching our kids.
I loved your post on that difficult day you had. This is a reminder to all moms that whenever we feel we are about to explode with whining, tears, tantrums, etc. we should think of all the blessings we have in our families!
I will think of this everyday to remind myself of how blessed I am to have a great family ;)
Thank you for sharing!
Before I meet my husband I was in a not so great relationship. It wasn't that the guy was bad, I was just doing all the work.
ReplyDeleteMy husband and I were friends at first, and my roommates called him a nerd. But still, there was something genuine about him.
One day I was visiting home and I found out one of my friends was getting married. I went over to her house and ended up starting a conversation with her mother (a woman I always admired) So said something that changed me that day "You find someone who treats you like gold and no less. Then you will be happy."
It made me realize the guy I was currently dating didn't have it together and never would. The guy who is now my husband truly wanted to be with me for me, and nerd or not I wanted to be with him too. To this day he is still the most caring husband and father a girl could ask for. I'm so glad I took that advice!
