My Mama Taught Me

My Mama, Jackie Sunderland, circa 1966

My mama taught me:

Bloom where you are planted; you can be happy wherever you are

To love unconditionally

The loyalty of a bulldog for my friends and family

Never give up; always expect to win

If you can't fix it, there's no use crying about it

A love for being the first person on the dance floor

You get more with honey than you do with vinegar

Sincerity and lack of pretention

An appreciation for handmade art

The world is magical if you keep your eyes open and look in the right places

I love you, Mom and I am grateful for all you have given me.
You are always in my heart.
